Community Patrols in Batu Amper More Intensified

The three pillars and residents living in Batu Ampar Urban Village, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta are promoting community patrols, known as siskamling to prevent youth brawls and other criminal acts.

Batu Ampar Urban Village Secretary, Abdul Haris expressed that every weekend, the three pillars together with residents, Satpol PP, RT/RW administrators, FKDM, and LMK routinely hold night patrols around the village.

"It is intensified every Friday and weekend," he expressed, Monday (7/29).

Anwar Urges Residents to Maintain Environmental Conduciveness

His party and residents had set up a security post at the Badminton Court on Jalan Batu Ampar VII, RT 14/05. Every day, residents get a schedule of turns to guard the post.

Kramat Jati Sector Police Chief, Comr. Pol. Tuti Aini added the role of RT/RW administrators together with residents and community leaders in maintaining the environment was very important in creating a conducive situation.

"Daily patrols can be done alternately. So, when we find children hanging out that could trigger a brawl, we can immediately break them up," he asserted.

According to him, his personnel also routinely patrol from 2 AM to 4 AM. They patrol seven urban villages passing through brawl-prone areas.

"I urge all elements to work together to maintain environmental security. Report directly to our members, if you find something suspicious, we'll immediately follow up," he stressed.
